I need a piece of gear I can only get on shelbyville road but uuuuuugh it’s that awful shopping time of the year, so I will get out a hammer and nails or build what I need out of LEGO before I will cross the park to that road

I am enjoying the fact that I have been posting videos about whatever I want to talk about, and it’s been … good for my career! Decades of music folks telling me to “tone it down” and “stop being your quirky self” does a number on the soul. It’s nice to have some wins being myself.

My 13-year-old took a sick day today … and by lunchtime he had taught himself the mandolin part of STONEHENGE! (prior to this morning, he did not play the mandolin🤣)

I have never understood why health care costs haven’t sparked the revolution in this country. But my family’s premiums alone next year will be almost $30k and the deductible another $10k. I do not know how we will do anything except pay for health care and work.

Played a super fun gig last night with Dan Bern, but played through an arthritis flare-up in my finger joints and have been paying for it all day today 😭😭😭

Anyway… fun to see some good folks at the Kentucky Book Festival today. Met many other authors; only spent $65 on books. Talked about my book. Fun day… but I am super peopled out and crawling in bed now goodnight! 🙃

I was playing the musical saw on TT, when someone decided to comment on my unshaven armpits ... so I turned it into an art tutorial with a dose of feminism.

Also, Hi. I gave up on BlueSky because no one ever saw my posts here. But the same posts would literally do 1 million views on the other apps... but also those other apps are whack. So hi? Again? For now? Fool me once...

Got into lots of public discussions about chord theory in pop music over the past 2 weeks, and i have loved most of it. The biggest question i got was 'what do musicians mean when they say things like, "go to the 4"' ... so i made a long-form youtube explaining it: youtu.be/9qpuMAjwMl0?...
