Samurai Flamenco. I think it pissed so many people off with the constant rug pulls that it ended up getting a bad rap and being sort of unfairly overlooked in hindsight. It's an incredible show that never allows itself to get stale and keeps raising the stakes in unexpected and bizarre ways.

Animated characters tend not to resemble any particular race, so the only way to depict races is to try and apply exaggerated racialized features to the baseline design. It's the same reason that white people in anime all have blonde hair blue eyes and big noses.
