It’s a letter from CBP. Not a scam, because it was sent by the government to tens (perhaps hundreds) of thousands of people. And yes, it’s inappropriate to send an email (or text) to someone to cancel their legal rights. The email doesn’t ask for anything.

The facts are far worse than this report (or plea). My guess it happened to many many women, particularly women with small children. Attys check your clients NTAs for this guys name.
