She/They

I love cats. I hate capitalism.
I think the difference here is that people just assume that it’ll be “others” who will die or suffer long term health issues from Covid, not them personally. And that’s why they can so casually dismiss the danger.

No, he won’t. I mean the bar was already pretty low as far as presidents go, but expansions to the police state, a failure to actually mitigate an ongoing pandemic, and two proxy wars (one of which has resulted in genocide) is not something y’all should be celebrating.

They will never admit it because they need to maintain the lie that these policies aren’t popular so they can continue justifying policies that protect the interests of capital.

These types don’t actually care about anything or anyone and angry that brunch got interrupted. They are just going fully mask off at this point. It’s beyond gross.

The fact that many (if not the majority) on the left seem so unconcerned and uninformed on an issue that has far reaching consequences for the working class (globally) just reveals that even those who staunchly oppose capitalism are not immune to the impacts of capitalist propaganda.

There is so much we should have learned from the HIV crisis — yet it seems that far too many folks’ memories are incredibly short or the promise of “normalcy” is just too powerful. As a queer person, I find it especially troubling that so many in my own community have forgotten history.

Supporting either right wing capitalist/imperialist party was essentially a vote to “burn it down”, though. I really wish more folks would start to really acknowledge that this is a system problem and not just a problem with which party holds power.

It’s wild watching everyone jump through all manner of mental hoops just to never even mention Covid as a possible link to so many health conditions that are on the rise. We can’t possibly challenge the comforting illusion of “normalcy”.
