Hard to tell if it's enough to jump back and leave a note to address the retroactive change in the next draft, and just update my mental model of the story going forward, especially when the number of changes gets into the double digits

When you're halfway into a story, and have notes for a handful of retroactive changes, is it better to push on and try to finish even though there will be inconsistencies, plot gaps, etc., or to realign/go back/think through changes/address issues before they propagate into the rest of the story?
