Nothing I say should be taken literally.
I think it was Going for the One and Tormato.

Bit of a revelation to me that music wasn’t just what you heard on the Top 40.

My dad’s old car had an 8 track and the only things we had were a best of Motown compilation and two Yes albums. What a time to be alive.

In the style of Minority Report I’d like to report a future crime in that W&GVMF will not win Best Animated Feature. 80% of the jokes, which make this film an unexpurgated joy, will fly over the heads of the esteemed members of the Academy (unlike Feathers McGraw).

Thanks for that.

I thought I’d post this as a fairly predictable response but now find myself slightly weepy at the memory of this moment. (Yes I know I’m being emotionally manipulated but who cares)

Threads is fine if you enjoy an interminable barrage of people asking specious open-ended questions. What sort of open-ended questions do you like?

I’ve scrolled through and, whilst not magical per se, how about Douglas Adams?

Do you know the person that writes the Windows help advice, you know like when the Internet is down and they tell you to go online to find a solution? If you do, have a friendly word please…

Our broadband provider phoned me up once (it actually was them)

“Hello, Mr Twigger”
“Hello”
“We need to verify your identity so we know it’s you”
“Yes, but you called me”
“I’m sorry?”
“You called me, on my number, and asked for me by my name so you know it’s me”
“Yes but…”
“Goodbye”

In a Ray Winstone voice presumably?

What’s nice about BlueSky is that you can ask a question like this without the absolute pillorying you would inevitably endure from all sides if you’d done the same on that other app.

Such a happier place.

Good to know, I thought it was oblique literary revenge. (Apparently The Angel is very good but I can’t afford it.)

I’m intrigued as to why you named the foul guards the “Hetton”, did you have a bad meal at The Angel once or was it a bad pint of Pale?

I’ve just watched Season 1, it’s fabulous. Am holding off Season 2 until I’ve read the book. I have standards.

Do you ever go to sporting events? What you could do is flick them at someone a few rows down then, when they inevitably turn round to look, adopt an expression of complete innocence.

That’s what I’d do.
