Exhausted dad, frustrated Habs fan.
You're right, Jack. This team finally does have 'the players'. Then I start thinking of Hage, and Reinbacher, and Zharovsky, and I 'worry' about where we're going to play all these players! Great problem to have.

I feel like picking Slaf at #1 was the 2nd sign (after hiring St. Louis) that HuGo and Molson had a long-term vision for the team. They could have gone the easy route and taken Wright who was supposed to go 1st, but they went with the project they felt was built to play in MTL, and it's paying off.

The only center they should consider is Crosby, and I don't think he'll be available until next year's deadline. With Danault, Evans, Kapanen, Dach, and Newhook, they can afford to be patient with Hage.

Less than 3 years ago they had Horvat, Miller and Pettersen at C, Hughes, Demko, and Boeser. No one predicted the Miller/Petey thing , and Demko has been hurt a lot, but everything else has been self-inflicted. Rutherford won with two other franchises. This is on Canucks' ownership.

Probably my favourite Sinead song.

Congratulations!

I thought he showed some really nice hands a couple of times, along with some good board work. Would be great if he solidified the 2C spot.

Is it a lot? Yup. Is it risky? Yup. But the cap is going up so quickly, $18M over just the next two seasons. The reality is that all player salaries are going to go up dramatically in the next 5 years. Just another reason HuGo were wise to lock their best players early.

Awesome! Sorry, I must have missed it. My wife and kids got to spend a day with him years ago at a KidSport event and have been following him ever since. Very happy for him.

Jack, not sure if you take requests for Heroes (and maybe you've already mentioned him), but I would put forward for your consideration Evan Dunfee, another Tokyo World Champion. This man has the conscience of a saint. Check out his interview with the CBC's Devon Heroux.

It should be more than just crystallographers!

I only just now learned about Ken Dryden's father, Murray, who was also Member of the Order of Canada for his philanthropy. Looks like the Dryden's were a special family.

OMG, one of my favourite shows of all time!

Your rankings are probably right, but honestly being 4th behind three of the all time greats is no bad thing. Those seasons between 2010-11 and 2016-17 were incredible, and utterly squandered by Habs management. What a shame.

I think it was Andy Roddick who said that tennis was the only sport that makes the loser speak in front of the crowd right immediately after losing. That can't be easy.

I stopped read at 'Biked 25 miles'. Good for you!

I don't mean retiring his number, I meant that he'd be a HOFer today.

He's one of the ultimate 'what ifs'. Look at his playoff record, it's stellar, better than his regular season, but the CH never fielded a really good team around him. What if MB doesn't overpay Price, and builds a better team around him? Then, I think we're having a different conversation.

I didn't see the broadcast, but I wonder if he was there pinch-hitting for Milt Stegall?

Great live band!

This is going to be an interesting UFA season. Teams with cap space and not many legit stars. Marner will get paid this offseason, just not by the Habs (I hope). McDavid may be available in a year, the Leafs won't tie their hands overpaying for Marner. Maybe the Blackhawks?

How is an R1 of 98% even possible?!
