Retired teacher. Canada. Atheist at peace with my insignificance in the cosmos. Fucking love science. Still in love with my beautiful wife after 54 years.
This is a painting ??!! Wow!! Such precision!

Ironic that nature's serial killers have the most beautiful faces on the plant. What evolutionary advantage does spellbinding beauty confer on them?

The only beautiful flower in a seemingly desolate landscape.

Mother Nature's sadistic joke, combining extreme lethality with extreme beauty.

Yes, I too was a teacher, now a retired high school English teacher, so I understand the impetus to connect to the generations coming up. I've had the priviledge to encounter so many wonderfully talented artistic kids over my 30 years. So sad to see them creating in isolation with no art classes.

To me, superb artists are secretly alien heralds sent from advanced civilizations, that pity humans, to live among us with a mission to elevate us to a higher evolutionary level. That's the best I can do to rationalize why you and your kind are so damn special.

Yes, you are a special kind of magician, imbuing graphite lines scratched on a page with human introspection ... an amazing artist.

An understated elegance.

Beware of the self appointed expert. A little knowledge is a dangerous jag to get hooked on.

OUCH ... his puts the burn back in Bernie.

The splintering of democracy and unraveling of the constitution are overarching objectives of the American right wing. After Trump has gone, the US will be decades trying to put authoritarianism back in the bottle. It may never happen as America continues to slide.

Don't forget the 75 million that voted for the Sociopath-in-Chief. Going forward, this weighs far more heavily on America's slippage among nations that have been scorched by Trump. A future with few friends.

It's a quaint concoction somewhere between sociopathy and psychopathy with a generous dash of insecurity ... chef's kiss!

Trump's not the king; he's the Maga messiah, sent to save them from all their imagined tormenters.

Happy Birthday, you crazy star traveller.

Just stick to potato comparisons, George. However, even a patato has far more sentience than the orange turd.

And it only cost a paltry 6 trillion dollars of stock devaluation. What a master manipulated!

Ah yes, feels like 410 years ago ... I was a tender 29. Seems like a different world back then.

From an utterly untalented observer (me), art looks like magic.
April 9, 2025 at 5:36 PM
Your strategically chosen point of view creates the impression of an anthropomorphised lighthouse peeking causiously over the clifftop at the wild, untamed sea crashing on the rocks below. Was this intentional?

Amazing how this organic quantum computer inside our skulls remains programmable, even after trauma. Art is probably the most elegant code to teach it. The world needs art as much as food and water, so thanks for your struggle.

Her lips or his? Cute photo with the breath of spring.

Yeah, you good - reeal good. Got that Renaissance vibe going on with this one.

When "drawing" reaches the level of subtlety, it becomes art ... in my humble, untalented opinion.
March 21, 2025 at 3:04 PM
Were you going for a subtle resoluteness in her expression?
