Most Irish people would not even know the Irish word for bilingual.

I thought at the time that Poland was the most likely suspect. It happened so soon after the Germans had agreed to stop buying Russian gas. It made no sense that the Russians would do it. They would have been removing their leverage over Germany when gas supplies for winter were still in doubt.

There's never really much criticism of France doing the same kind of thing. Like most english speaking countries, the majority of the public here don't consume much media not in English.

Ireland couldn't join NATO because of our disputed border with the UK, which was only resolved in 1998. We did offer to do if we got Nortern Ireland back.
Most Irish people consider most UK & US wars as neo-colonial and unnecessary. They tend to conflate this with NATO.
