Has Liverpool’s training been continuously rained-off for the past two weeks like my son’s u16 team? The parallels are striking. If they need to approach the council for funding for an all-weather pitch, some of the parents have helped draft a business case which I’m willing to share.

A UK media outlet recently announced that Ireland had just elected its first female president. Interesting that a lot of people were immediately able to discount that as incorrect cos they recalled that Seamás met a previous female Uachatarain na hEireann whilst off his box on K.

I think they’re talking about using a dash in a written sentence where you don’t have the full courage of your convictions and so you go “mmm” before you decide to use it. Equally acceptable is sticking your tongue out slightly or biting the top of your pen absentmindedly.
