Finished planting 1,000 bulbs, mostly narcissus. Tulips in pots. Fall veggies coming along (zone 7b). Waiting to get viburnum macrocephalum next week. Will plant along the back of our lot, where I've already planted oakleaf hydrangeas and Bottlebrush buckeyes. 🌱 Planning a perennial bed this winter.

Planted 500 bulbs today. Admittedly, 300 were tommasinianus crocus. The other 200 were narcissus tete a tete and jetfire. I'm naturalizing a section of our backyard. 🌱

New garden planning.🌱 I'd like to plant Bottle brush buckeye in a dark corner, then a few viburnum burkwoodii nearby. I'll add v. Opulus and mariesii somewhere. A few Japanese maples (upright). Edgeworthia and azaleas. Zone 8a.

Would really appreciate specific suggestions. Pics from back deck.

I want to plant citrus in containers (zone 7b). I've read that owari satsuma mandarins, and kumquats are the most cold tolerant. I plan to put pots on casters so that they can be wheeled into the garage when temps are below freezing. Please give me your opinions. 🌱

We just bought a new house. I noticed a big patch of poison ivy in back. I hate to use glyphosate on it. Any alternatives? 🌱

Anybody have advice on protecting azaleas and camellias from winter damage? I covered them with landscape fabric this week. Now I wonder about dessication. Can I use an anti-dessicant in winter? 🌱

A tennessee warbler arrived at the suet feeder on this 14°F morning. Nice to see the little guy. 🦉🪶

It's forecasted to drop to 14°F tonight and stay below freezing for 3 days. I just covered my azaleas and camellias with landscape fabric. They were newly planted in spring. I live in zone 7b. Will landscape fabric protect newly planted shrubs? Lycoris radiata covered in shredded leaves. 🌱
