I love that movie so much. A masterpiece.

You have described my current state almost exactly. I sympathize. Hopefully we both make it through.

Thank you! This is great. He’s so good at balancing motion and clarity. There’s always something for your eye to follow, even as the frames are blurring by.

Done.

This is great. Roland Kirk is one of my two or three all-time favorite jazz musicians, and I didn't know about these releases.

That movie is such a masterpiece. Possibly my all-time favorite noir.

Thank you! I even thought there must be a longer version.

I especially enjoyed Andy’s joke about Laura’s memoir of appearing with Andrew on so many Halloween episodes of Backlisted being called “I Walked With A Zombie.” As Andy may have been subtly referencing, that brilliant 1943 Jacques Tourneur/Val Lawton movie is itself a Brontë (Jane Eyre) adaptation!

I honestly didn't appreciate enough at the time how special an opportunity it was. I was only about 19 and was fairly ignorant of Sharrock's history in terms of the greats he played with: Davis, Sanders. Even so, "Ask the Ages" was influential to me as someone just getting into jazz at the time.

I love that Sonny Sharrock album. I once saw him at New York's Knitting Factory in the early 1990s, and it was amazing. RIP.
