Always nice to start a morning/week with a bit of snow falling...

Hmm...nice little snow band approaching here... #njwx

Before I started singing, I told Pat "I came *thisclose* to choosing a Train song" and then told him I have his "Worst Train Song" bit saved on my phone...

When I first shared the story, it had very few details (see below). But I later saw the update about the ship being anchored. Based on where the ship is in that picture in the updated story, it looks like they may have thought they were clear of the runways. Obviously, pilots felt differently.

Haven't been called up on stage yet, but tonight's @wxpnfm.bsky.social Thank-A-Member Live Band Karaoke Night has been super fun!

Possible flurries headed toward Philly metro... #phillywx #njwx

Spent some time today celebrating 65 years of Appel Farm in Elmer, NJ, with Polaroid Fade, Stereo League and @tisburys.bandcamp.com — presented by @wxpnfm.bsky.social.
Sadly, we couldn't stay for Minka and Snacktime.

UPDATE: My eye doctor fixed me up yesterday with a corneal patch and some antibacterial eye drops. My right eye is already feeling a lot better, so it looks like we are still a "go" for Appel Farm today to see @tisburys.bandcamp.com, Polaroid Fade and more!

Just remembered...today is the 20th anniversary of when my friend Katie won second-row tickets and a meet-and-greet with @actualbenfolds.bsky.social at Radio City Music Hall. Only blemish that night was Ben hitting curfew and only being able to conduct the crowd harmonies for "Not the Same."

I'd be happier for her if I didn't suspect she leans right (although not MAGA...I think/hope), but congrats to a one-time close friend/long-ago on-off situationship deal on winning a nonpartisan council seat in Ocean Twp. (Monmouth), NJ, last night.

Sherrill has a 4-point lead in Gloucester County with 81% of the vote in. Ciattarelli won the county by 10 points over Murphy in 2021.
November 5, 2025 at 2:27 AM
Well, only confirmed threat was Cedar Grove ES in Toms River — a very comfortably red district. Looks like only one district in Ocean went for Murphy over Ciattarelli in 2021 and that was tiny Berkeley District 01, part of an age-restricted community a few miles west of Cedar Grove. 🤷‍♂️
November 4, 2025 at 6:30 PM
Monmouth and Ocean, in general, are very red, but Ocean saw 20K+ fewer R early voters while Ds only shed 5K+. And, yeah, while that's comparing a presidential election to a non-presidential one, you can see why Rs would threaten blue pockets there today to help their margins.

Happy Birthday to Tamara Lindeman of @theweatherstation.bsky.social !

Thank you for your music and some of the best concerts I've ever been to.

This is from today's 12z GFS for a week from tomorrow. Is it likely? No. But there are some signals for NJ & E PA to see some form of snow in that timeframe. Verbatim, this is 4-5" of snowfall for Philly-Trenton, but probably only an inch (at most) of that sticks, if it happens. #phillywx #njwx

WOW! The NYC Marathon leaderboard now shows Kipruto's win by just 0.03 seconds! Unreal!

It's basically a corporate park now, but the current version of the Navy Yard in South Philly still has facilities where this could happen with infrastructure upgrades in the circled area.

I think my sister may have a picture of Pierre Robert from the day we picked up the guitar I won from WMMR in 1986/87. My memory is that we just happened to run into Pierre in the hallway and I think we took a quick photo. I only have this one of me and, I think, Ray Koob when he gave me the guitar.

NHC: #Melissa is strengthening with maximum sustained winds of 180 mph and an estimated minimum central pressure of 896 mb.

"This is an extremely dangerous and a life-threatening situation."
October 28, 2025 at 1:09 PM
What the fuck is this? Found it on X.

First of all, obviously #Melissa is nowhere near Mexico.

Secondly...I assume this map was made by AI because Louisiana no longer exists and Mexico now takes up most of the Gulf and the U.S. Southwest. And just how far north does the Gulf of California go here?

This is cool...the current No. 1 single on the UK's Official Physical Singles Chart is...

"Love's Great Adventure," by Ultravox, released as a single in 1984. Guess Official Charts doesn't believe in apostrophes?
