Clearly the democrats won the shutdown fight.

Aren’t comments like these admission that innocent people can die in these situations… if not already have been?

But this makes it harder to publicly push for the filibuster. He’s probably relying on the new “investigation” to shield the files.

Nevermind.

What’s your point?

Just because Trump pulled his appeal doesn’t mean his appeal will succeed in Feb. Either way, it’s out of Dems hands whether it happened now or then.
November 13, 2025 at 7:34 PM
It is a win.
November 13, 2025 at 3:11 AM
Yes. It’s just a 2.5 month pause at just the right time.
November 13, 2025 at 3:05 AM
I am very pro ending the shutdown the way they did… and pro new shutdown in Feb.

I actually think this whole thing was masterful politics.
November 11, 2025 at 9:23 PM
They don’t side with Trump on everything. And I don’t think allowing Trump to starve kids and seniors is a “win” for Trump anyway.
November 11, 2025 at 6:51 PM
I thought it was paused yesterday for 48 hrs to give Trump admin time to appeal?

If we’re speculating, then I think Jackson issued the stay to show that they’re being fair when they will ultimately rule against Trump. But who knows.

MAGA also spent the last month saying that SNAP beneficiaries were freeloading leeches.

Next month they’ll vote to allow premiums to rise.

The next month they’ll let them rise.

Then we shut down the government again.
November 11, 2025 at 4:09 AM
That may be settled by the Supreme Court by the next shutdown.
November 11, 2025 at 4:07 AM
Democrats were fighting to lower healthcare premium costs. They caved because Trump was refusing to fund SNAP even though the courts told him he could and should.

They changed the conversation. They showed that Rs don’t care about healthcare costs or starving Americans. Next battle’s in Feb.

Chuck was right back in March. And this maneuver to end the shutdown in the way they are is right. And it puts Ds in a better position when they shut down the government again in 2 months.
November 10, 2025 at 8:36 PM
There was no real endgame here, so this seems to me to be the right decision. Dems refocused the argument. Shut it down again once people see their premiums rise.

Holy shit.
November 7, 2025 at 6:57 PM
That’s what the tariffs are for, duh!

💄?

Really? That’s pretty light resume for running for Congress. Basically she did well in college and interned for a senator. (Winning a science fair is cool but not really relevant.)

Not that I care. She’s smart and has good instincts and values.
October 29, 2025 at 7:32 AM
That’s the way I take it. A candidate either has a resume, or they are a normie person with good instincts and values. Janet Mills is an example of the former. AOC is a good example of the latter. So *was* Platner. Now he’s in neither lane.

That’s like Truth Social too… they never post links, only screenshots of headlines.

My theory is that even they are embarrassed by their sources of info.
