"Write what you know" is likely the reason that every other movie and TV show is about actors, directors, screenwriters and creatives living and struggling in LA and NYC.
Similar: trains were originally built to fit a 4 foot, 8.5" gauge because the tools and jigs they had were built to make wagons that fit the existing ruts dating all the way back to Roman wagon roads.
Apparently "cheers" was a way to make drinks spill into each other to prove they weren't poisoned

Apple has established iPhone as the default smartphone for middle/upper class white collar Americans. For young people the brand strength is even greater.

Learning to sell is a form of moral discomfort. It forces you to confront how much of human behavior runs on narrative, not truth. On confidence, not clarity. It feels unfair, because it is. But it’s also a constraint of the terrain, like gravity or TCP/IP.
