Denver. Former-tech-loving curmudgeon. Friends are better than bots and AI. Geography enthusiast and traveler at heart. Traveling on pause due to being a dad (raising a future travel buddy). Antique radio restorer. DIY enthusiast.
When I was a kid, I played Madden on the Sega Genesis before I ever watched football. I assumed John Madden stood up in the crowds, controller in hand, to signal to each team what play to make.

Why am I admitting this on the open Internet?

Hold on though... Weren't grand jury documents expected to be withheld? Plenty of those black highlighters being used to be sure, but I thought grand jury stuff was excepted from the law Congress passed.

Perpetual motion? I figured that one out! Well, same law of thermodynamics cracked wide open.

- Large capacity pure sine wave inverter connected to car

- Inverter provides up to 2500W at 120V

- Car plugged into inverter

Now I just need an inverter that will let me do level 2 😎

When did @jonbois.bsky.social start working here?

Lying would require knowing what you say is incorrect, when it's at least as likely to be dementia that's making him say these things.

Honestly, yeah. Acknowledge the letter, give an "updated" date (of the same date) "per your request" "in light of the recent presidential pardon for violation of Colorado statue XYZ, as outlined in the US Constitution..."

Basically pat them on the head and don't change a damn thing.

Yeah! Well, I was salaried and they weren't too picky about timing, so long as it didn't interfere with actual training. Made friends with someone who knew how to run them, and our office manager was friends with everyone and hooked me up before that.

Didn't use them much, but not never either!

Even though my job had nothing to do with them, I used to work at the United Airlines training center, which has a bunch of those giant simulators. There were some other really cool things for flight attendant training too, like one room had a permanently-deployed slide!

I miss that place...

Do you have an example of that list of attributes? Like, does each thing have a bunch of key/value pairs or something?

I'm working on a project at work that's basically pulling data out of a system that uses a tree node structure. It's been interesting but honestly kinda fun

I managed to get a full chassis for a 1940s tube radio through security and brought it safely home on a 2-hour flight.

Then again, ~2014 was a simpler time

It's about damn time. We had a half-penny until the 19th century. IIRC its value then was about a dime in today's dollar.

Aurora outside Aurora, CO. Seems fitting.

1) What'd you get?

2) FYI, if your car has some kind of "one-pedal" mode that's not the only way to get regen, contrary to popular belief. The computer will figure it out, just don't stop too quickly.

Hey, these tariffs are encouraging domestic production. You haven't lived until you've had a banana locally grown in Vermont!
