This article is spot on. Literally the first reply to this post back in 2016 was someone telling me I was being overly dramatic and that everything would be fine.

The most stressful part of driving in the city is other cars. The most stressful part of walking in the city is avoiding cars. The most stressful part of biking in the city is navigating around the cars. Give people more transportation options and everyone is better off.

If you think that cities are stressful places that you can only handle in small doses, it's probably because you're trying to drive in them. If you want to learn how to enjoy city life, ditch the car before you go.
