An uncontrolled LLM will produce anything you ask for - based on its language model, database and access to external sources. Since LLMs are much better at language and semantics than average humans, any person with access, knowledge and enough criminal energy gains an advantage against the "rest of world". So – again – not LLMs are the problem. People are. And its human societies task to leverage the technical abilities of these system for all humanity.

Steam just added screen reader support in the latest Big Picture Mode beta. On the Deck. On SteamOS. On Linux. Not hacked in. Not community-patched. Built-in. From Valve. There's an accessibility tab. There's a screen reader. There's high-contrast mode, UI scaling, color filters, reduced motion, and more. I can’t believe I’m saying this but: I need a Steam Deck now. Accessibility isn’t just coming to gaming — it’s here, and it’s official. Let’s make some noise so they keep going.

I'm pretty sure this isn't what Google's going for with their embedded Gemini results. Multiply by millions of users that's a lot of compute wasted.

What if we evaluate the format of the search string and run AI results if it's in a prompt format?

Fascinating article and thread. As much as part of me wants to say "how foolish to spend tens of thousands for an education and cheat it" the other part says "with no risk of consequences of course people will AI their way to ease."

Seems like the logical conclusion of this "generative AI" exercise. "“My grades were amazing,” she said. “It changed my life.” Sarah continued to use AI when she started college this past fall. Why wouldn’t she? Rarely did she sit in class and not see other students’ laptops open to ChatGPT. Toward the end of the semester, she began to think she might be dependent on the website.
