Hey all this video did well and i think a big part of it was the music. My game is nowhere near complete now so i dont have credits but wanted to share where the music came from. Its great music that makes the game feel alive as a work in progress.

My first passion is the environment and humanitarianism, took a little break from making a game to start a new little dashboard project for global conflict and major natural disasters

Was able to use a lot of the game assets, and it will help in the game

Its close, wanted to add “propellers” to my ball drones, mostly just to start working on a more complex system for objects

Will adjust further, might be worthwhile to find a way to import obj files into voxel world so i can use a proper modeller

Working on the flashlight today, right now it follows the player, and other players can see the light move around

Will tweak more, light is an important aspect, thinking you can upgrade the flashlight, and adjusting it for different materials/environments

Local coop possible, have your little kid sibling mine asteroids while you manage supply chain and logistics

Think of each rocket as its own life/crew

But anyways, got the voxel world working in all screens, and changes propagates!

Reworked the satellite landing mode, will still have liminal type buildings. But this is a Liminal Space comet being explored with the rocket.

Dont mind the lack of color, internal test build, follow for more! Big steps

Adjusted the movement to be more like using a jetpack in space, wasd is up left down right, left and right mouse forward, left is look around

Also added something that follows you, but going to remove it all together to work on multistory

Tip to anyone working with random numbers, randomly picking between 10 choices, is much faster than randomly picking any number from 1-10

Doubled our framerate by swapping random.uniform in python with random.choice, among a few other optimizations

for rocket interiors, the skybox is the games starmap

When the flashlight is off, the blackness of space makes its way in, space clouds and other objects fill the ship, black surfaces let you see stars

We got space ghosts and creepy liminal spaces with chill lighting.

This wouldnt be a normal rocket interior, ill work on making that customizable and not dark.

But this would be a good start to level design when you board derelict vessels, or abandoned outposts on mars..

Interiors already look much creepier, you can only see three squares around you by default

Use a flashlight to see more, but when you use the flashlight you cant see the placeholder “spirits” on the map, some who arent friendly

Attempting to create a ship interior mode, currently i have a 6 sided room you can look around in. Disables rocket controls, will work on more elaborate interiors, but trying to keep it simple

Intercept incoming asteroids before they strike earth, also added the sun to the view in the rockets to make it more complete

The part of earth that will be hit glows, small area and increasing as the asteroid gets closer

Will reduce number if particles but last main system to work on is a reward system for destroying incoming rockets before they hit earth

You can already destroy them, but i need it to stun structures if it hits

When the lead rocket fires its gun, all other rockets fire at the same point

When the lead rocket is beaming to a planet, the others do too

Rocket groups can accomplish tasks faster than 1 lone rocket
