I’m usually not one to throw shade at choosing mortality for an #ICU primary outcome… but for arterial lines? Did people think they saved lives? And this is in NEJM?

IRBs today: “You want to teach students and publish it? Write 20 pages about ensuring their data privacy and we’ll think about it”

IRBs 40 yrs ago: “You want to make your students inhale toxic gas just to see what happens? Okay, just make it a little bit of toxic gas”

In <12 hours of work, I transformed our #POCUS curriculum into an async pathway with duolingo-like features and instructor dashboards.

Vibe-coding may simultaneously be the most powerful #meded tool today BUT the easiest way to get into legal trouble.

Here's how to harness it🧵

📝 Study types shifted:
• Case reports ↓ from 26% → 14%
• Perspective/opinion pieces ↑ from 6% → 23%

📊 Journal quality (by Scimago Rank) had a very small increase:
Median SJR rose from 0.470 → 0.630
(For reference NEJMs rank is 19, JGMEs is 1.1)
But…
🧵 23% of all articles were never cited even once.

mededassessments.com now has two games: Jeopardy and the Conference Cup. The Conference Cup is up to four teams. A host runs the board with 3 questions to choose from. Teams take turns and use QR codes to access game cards for fun and randomness. Free to create, copy, or share! #meded #MedSky

Looking for statistical comparisons? With just a few clicks, you can compare aggregate scores across paired and unpaired samples or compare individual question responses for survey questions.
July 10, 2025 at 7:25 PM
Get detailed analytics on assessment responses. Not just how the learners did, but how the assessment did, analyzing internal reliability, psychometrics, and giving an aggregate rating. See how learners perform among all the subscales/subdomains you declared to direct teaching
July 10, 2025 at 7:25 PM
Looking for something more fun? Gamify your assessment. MedEd Assessments will take your subscales/subdomains and automatically convert them to Jeopardy categories with an interactive game board and live scoring
July 10, 2025 at 7:25 PM
Create test instances to separate pre-/post- or sample groups that you are assessing. Then, easily create unique links that you can send to learners for deployment.
July 10, 2025 at 7:25 PM
Or create your own assessments, containing MCQs, survey questions, and free text questions. Add images and categorize questions under sub-domains for more analytic capabilities.
July 10, 2025 at 7:25 PM
Want to find an assessment already out there? The site hosts two repositories: 1 completely public and 1 for verified instructors (so learners can't easily access). With the click of a button, you can duplicate an assessment, edit it, and deploy it yourself
July 10, 2025 at 7:25 PM
For my fellow #meded enthusiasts who do surveys and assessments, I built a one-stop website to do it all:
Build assessments
Get responses
Analyze psychometrics
Calculate statistical differences
Host gamified assessments
And more...

Research published by for-profit companies has nearly tripled, causing ⬆️ APCs and 💰 paywalls

We started a nonprofit journal where you can publish and review for charity, or even get paid to peer review.

Because research should be shared—not sold.

Google forms ain’t enough for me, so I’m making a site to create, share, distribute, and analyze my assessments/surveys with statistical analyses. I’ll make it public and free if any fellow #meded enthusiasts are interested.
