Whitecaps in the billows of the coincidental ether
definitely worth getting the free plan to play around

of course, this is all setting aside the more obvious complication of the comparative aesthetics of killing someone directly with a gun versus killing thousands of people indirectly with a spreadsheet algorithm or a corporate policy that withholds treatment that could otherwise have been provided

ideally nobody would kill another person

but obviously that ideal will never be realized

and what are the actual consequences of admitting the fact of that unattainability?

there’s an assumed unquestionable nobility to the value of the absolute rule of law, but that value will always be aspirational, as rule of law never has been and never will be absolute

so it’s really just the same classic divide between idealists and realists

they instantly read the vibe that it was a targeted hit and not a mass shooting. good intuition.

it’s so natural to ask follow up questions and guide the explanations/conversations towards the specifics of my own context and curiosity, and I can feel that Claude “gets” the nuances about what I’m actually trying to understand

getting the answers to these questions from Claude is about 10,000x more pleasant and useful than doing a google search and getting an article full of SEO optimized slop and fifteen different kinds of banner ads and videos flying in from all directions

really feels like a new paradigm

I’m locking in to two hours of drawing this morning before the day job. Going to be working on the next page of the improvisational comic strip that I’ve been publishing on a message board by taking plot suggestions from the other members.

It’s nice to have a fresh start, and it feels good to finally be able to “vote with my feet” to express my displeasure with the state of Twitter. I’m hoping to see/find people who are actually awake on here, as opposed to sleepwalking their way through petty grievances and status games.

to me, the most reliable human trait is our adaptability, which in the case of technology means that we will take for granted today what we declared to be impossible yesterday. and yet we’re still confident in declaring what will never be possible tomorrow

I am still baffled that anyone is still capable of these short sighted proclamations at this point. Just keep “AI art will never get anywhere. It can’t even do hands!” as a yardstick for this kind of thing.
