Bought this the same day I bought my first gunpla from the hole in the wall model shop in Grimsby. And then listened to it for the first time while building my first gunpla, forever connecting the two activities.

Prince Paul does a rock opera.
1999 was a royal pain in the ass, but I was still too young and full of energy to appreciate it until the end of the year. This album played a big part in distracting me from how poorly run the company I worked for was.

Purchased on the back of a review by "Rock Expert David Stubbs 🎶". It's great. Singularly great to the point of me feeling like I didn't really need anything else from The Afghan Whigs. But then again, neither did Greg Dulli for a while.

Listening to this now, I think I like it more than I did at the time. After this I only bought singles from them that I liked, as I wasn't feeling the album.

I still mainly associate it with the lads in 6th form common room obnoxiously doing a "pile on" everytime Time for Livin’ came on.
I purchased it myself later at university, safely away from these violent expressions of teenage homo-eroticism.

My main take away from playing Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2 for the first time was "oh, someone else bought that Fu Manchu record".

A testament to how disorganised my CDs are that this is nowhere near where Vol 1 is.

I came onboard with "Sister Havana" and the Butcher Bros. production era, so this was a back catalogue dive.
Of the pre-Saturation albums, this feels closest to where they ended up, but Albini's not the guy to get it realised fully.

This had B-side versions of God is Love and Sad Tomorrows as extra tracks on the CD.
Apparently I got it for 4 quid in an HMV sale from the impossible to remove cleanly price stickers still attached.

For an album I am only lukewarm on, I have bought it twice. Possibly because it was frequently in sales in the 90s.

I snoozed and loozed on this one and ended up with the Dreamworks re-issue. My brother has the earlier Mo Wax UK release.

Great 1996 indie pop sound. Which never followed up on with their later releases. Possibly because I was coming to this as a FNM fan, and late 90s FNM output ran me off.

Has the problem that if you're going to listen to Sugar, surely you just put Copper Blue or Beaster on instead?
I've softened a little on it in 31 years, but its still not a classic like the other two releases were.
