Starmer is more like Sir Humphrey than Jim Hacker.

When I see Trump and the cult of apologists around him, I sometimes think of The Mule in Asimov's Foundation trilogy. I simply fail to see how anyone could offer fealty to such a repugnant individual.

You speak for all of us, Athena, (or at the very least me) but I can't see it happening - no matter how much Fagman scrapes the barrel.

So Ukraine gave the US a list of things they'd never accept and the US took it as the things they would accept. Well ... that's no less bonkers than the other US excuses so far.

I visited the Red Cross museum in Geneva some years ago. I was in tears about half way through (I'm known for being stoic about most things). You'd need a heart of stone not to be moved by the experience.

IMO Trump was on the edge of a violent attack against a female in that video. Any push back could well have resulted in physical violence. I can't even begin to imagine my own reaction, never mind her's, in the confined space of an aircraft where the option to leave is impossible.

"but what is MORE appalling is this: That female reporter didn't have the balls to push back" - you said the victim's behaviour was "more appalling". You blamed her for not doing what you think you would have done.

Never ever blame the victim of bullying; none of us truly know how we'd react in such circumstances.

Sounds far too integrated TBH. I'd head down the local Bistro.

The world is bonkers enough I could well imagine her starting a gofundme, though God knows what she could offer subscribers.

Labour has got to go. They're an abject failure and unfit for government. The problem is that what, if anything, can fill the vacuum?
November 16, 2025 at 2:25 PM
Labour has lost its way¹ It needs root and branch reform²
1 understatement of the year
2 not Reform Ltd, sorry for the dreadful pun

It's walking round the car, prodding stuff, sucking its teeth and saying "it'll cost you mate".

Considering the ones *with* a track record actually have a track record of wanton incompetence, is that such a bad thing?

Perhaps he counted to four.

Well the Tories voted down a bill that would oblige landlords to at least make their properties habitable to humans some years ago. And I think after that we had the black mould health issues come to light.
