Hypothesis: Rising youth depression may be linked to the offloading of core cognitive functions (memory, navigation, attention, social interaction) onto personal devices. With less external demand, the brain may redirect activity inward, manifesting as anxiety and depressive rumination.

I don't think we can fix the long-term effects of chronic poverty in the short term. It really is a cheap solution to say if we just give some cash today, problems associated with poverty would be solved in 25 years.

I don't support Trump's homeless executive order, but Democrats need a better alternative. The public should expect that they can go to a park or walk down a city street without encountering someone in severe distress. Without results, patience for humane solutions runs out.
