This attitude toward software engineering where you learn zero fundamentals and just ship AI-written code you don’t understand is unbelievably reckless and will produce levels of slop not seen since the bootcamp era

Ever since I was a little kid I dreamed about being featured in a Bluesky Starter Pack

Launchway v1.1 released!

It now supports multi-identity auth so you can connect any number of OAuth providers simultaneously, as well as some performance improvements via Dockerfile optimisation and client-side caching and validation

Currently posting this from my own locally running Bluesky client

Pretty insane how easy this was to set up, amazing job by @danabra.mov and co!

Has there been a change to the "Discover" algo here? For me it's suddenly filled with irrelevant non-tech stuff like it was when I first joined a few weeks ago

In my head the webdev political compass looks something like this

Bottom left is places like Reddit and HN where everybody is stuck in the past

On the opposite end you have places like Twitter, where everybody generally loves bleeding-edge tech

Where will Bluesky fit in?

New article published! This time about handling environment variables in Remix apps

I forgot what it’s like to be on a platform that doesn’t penalise external links

Asking LLMs for content is pain

> “write me an article about XYZ”
> “In this fast-paced digital world, XYZ is a game changer…”
> “use a more casual tone”
> “Hey man, have you heard of XYZ? It’s totally rad!”

Skill issue? Do I really have to use a 1000 character prompt?

I want to love this site but I think we need to quickly move past the current era of little brother meta-posting about how it’s so much better than Twitter

(I realise the irony in this in this also being a meta-post)

For file uploads in Remix apps I generally always use S3-compatible presigned URLs

Doing this offloads the responsibility of uploading and validating the file to the storage service while avoiding vendor lock-in on your end

I recently wrote an article about it

Can anyone refer to me to a 100% AI generated tweet or blog post that is engaging and not obviously written by an LLM?

I see a lot of products in this space and I don’t know if everyone’s lying about their utility or the underlying prompts are so good that you cant tell it’s AI
