Lovely morning run in the Brian Booth state park with Billie. The coastal forest air was delicious. The plants were prehistoric. We literally had the place to ourselves! #Oregon

I boxed in a gluelam beam with Port Orford cedar boards. I'm working on a vertical piece for the end, but the beam box came out nicely. #woodworking

Hanging out at East Fork lumber in scenic Norway, OR fetching some beautiful, clear Port Orford cedar 1x8s for a beam box. These folks mill some beautiful pieces of rare lumber. Checkout this cedar beam destined for Chicago. #woodworking #wood

I use dowels and square knobs. Hallf inch dowel for the hinge and quarter inch dowels for the adjustments on the arms. Simple but effective and the back comes off for easier moving. It's similar to a very old Stickley design.

I designed and built this chair from regional Port Orford cedar using all-wood joinery in a variety of joint styles. It's 1 day old. The back is adjustable. Lots of room for a drink or whatever, and with a thin, custom seat cushion, a comphy, long-duration ride. #design #furniture #woodworking

The final fitting of the Ona Beach chair is looking good. It's almost ready to be joined, but first, disassemble and sand it all with 220 and then peg & glue it together and then apply a finish, but this is the first time all the pieces have been together. The back is adjustable. #furniture #design

I typically see kelp washed up on the Oregon coast. I didn't know that kelp can help mitigate the impact of a tsunami. I do know that the kelp forest is in trouble, an alarming bellwether.

We just hit the beach for a low tide dog walk. The first time the central #Oregon coast has been hospitable in a while, but the weather is clearing, and it's a beautiful night. Hope you're having a good evening wherever you are.
