*OK, it wasn’t weird that I found it. I had watched “Bully. Coward. Victim” about Roy Cohen. The kidnapper was arrogant enough to harass the sleaziest lawyer ever. I was doing some research when I found the podcast, but I had had my fill by then.

It’s an important look at a time when gay kids had no safe place to go. Since then, we’ve built a loving, compassionate community. But today, those very places are threatened in so many ways. We must do all we can to keep the doors and hearts open for all our children.

I did listen recently. Afterwards, I needed to assert my truth and wrote the podcasters. I honestly thought I was spewing into the void. I was blown away a half hour later when I received a reply. She had looked at my project, “so many skins, since” and asked if I would record it.

I live in a world of my own. It’s an artist's life.
That’s a privilege not many get to enjoy.
I happily endured its shortcomings in exchange for the astonishing highs.
Of course, there are sorrows. But in measure, as long as I am in progress, I am content.
