You're not getting it. There is no "diversion" of issues here. What's going on overseas is getting all the attention, and domestic displacement of unsheltered people doesn't get the same amount of concern as what's going on elsewhere. They should be give the same amount of attention.

There are lots of organizations that deal with homelessness, I'm talking about people organizing around holding public officials accountable to get people off the streets IMMEDIATELY, not tomorrow.

That's my point: the suffering of people here and abroad can be of concern SIMULTANEOUSLY, but there's LOTS more attention being paid to the latter, but little if any by activists to the former. They're NOT mutually exclusive, but people SHOULDN'T ignore the domestic side.
