Always aiming to be more curious and less judgmental
Been thinking more and more about moving back to physical media for our family. This is another nail in the coffin for our subscriptions.

Listened this morning while dropping the kids off at school. I really enjoyed this one! Odd that David Luiz is at Pafos, and that toothbrush story was awesome. 👍

I think it's quite possible that plays a part. I certainly can't speak to the power dynamics between Josh and Stan though. I think it more likely that they realized how toxic Stan is as a public figurehead, and they've pumped money into the club because it was a depreciating asset at the time.

Great article! I'm an American sports fan who has seen their ownership style with the Nuggets and Rams. I was surprised to see their spending level this year with Arsenal as their usual style is to keep their teams consistently competitive, but they don't typically push the boat out like this summer

I wouldn’t be opposed to selling Leo. I think ideally we get a really good LW and can bring Martinelli off the bench to terrorize tired fullbacks. In that instance, Leo wouldn’t play much. If we sell Leo now, we also have the chance to actually get some money for him.

It feels like someone finally told him to cut in to the box more instead of being stuck to the sideline with superglue. He's electric when he attacks directly, and most defenses can't handle him. I have no clue if that's in the data or not though.

Maybe Garnacho?

Has there ever been an explanation as to why it’s kept behind closed doors? It’s just a weird decision in the day and age where content is king.

Yeah, it's so frustrating looking at their past draft picks. The only ones having significant careers are Donte and Brogdon in the 11 years since they took Parker.

100%. The reason their window is closing is due to their complete incompetence at drafting players. That combined with the fact that all their picks are gone is the reason the Bucks are in the position that they're in. The whole Dame thing is simple bad luck. I'd do that trade again every time.

I fully agree that this year does feel different. If he asks out, I get why. Teams have their cycles, and the Bucks have done everything they can to be as competitive as possible, which is a major credit to them in a market like MKE. Sometimes, it’s just time to reload.

That said, I also understand that the cupboard is bare. If he wants to stay, wonderful. He has given me so many wonderful memories, and he'll be my favorite athlete forever. I would fully understand if he ever did ask out, but that's not really his style.

As a lifelong Bucks fan, it's 100% true that the national media has been trying to get him out of Milwaukee ever since he came onto the scene especially since they lost to the Toronto in the ECF. It has been nonstop by every talking head on ESPN and seemingly every beat writer.

For me, that’s the silver lining of how poor a job he’s doing and his bad poll numbers. He can’t force through the kind of change that would be required to stop elections from happening. It’s no coincidence that everything he’s doing is via executive order.

Things like this make even the most forgiving of people believe they have an agenda.

Good luck to her! May she help a lot of people. There’s no possible way I’d be able to do that, but I’m sure glad there are people out there that are.

My wife makes more than me, and I could not care less. More money in the bank account is always a good thing.
January 9, 2025 at 10:05 PM
This is the way I’m choosing to look at it. We are absolutely still in the hunt for UCL, carabao and FA cup. We were never going to be able to compete for all of them, and we are well built for the biggest one in the world.

And maybe a new Director of Football can help with that. I bet that came from Arteta, but to me, that says the Edu may have been more of a Yes Man when Arteta may need someone to push back.
January 5, 2025 at 4:25 PM
I agree 100%. The one piece that I wish the club would have done better is to recruit more attackers. When you do have a difficult injury riddled season, you still need to put the ball in the back of the net. I understand the desire to control games, but they’ve gone too far in one direction

I think Slot just inherited one of (if not the) best right winger in the history of the Premier League who is having a career year, and Slot gets to ride his coattails to a title. I think it’s just really bad luck
January 5, 2025 at 4:10 PM
Could help them that they weren’t in champions league last year. Sometimes the stars just align for you injury luck wise too. It is amazing how often that happens for players when they’re in active contract discussions
January 5, 2025 at 4:00 PM
How common is it for stars like him to take pay cuts to play elsewhere? I’d take a waiver on him, but 350 a week or whatever he’s on certainly doesn’t count as a waiver.
December 17, 2024 at 10:48 PM
Number 2, 100%. I think the title is probably gone, and sometimes it’s simply not your year. However, I remain very hopeful for Champions League. Maybe only focusing on one competition could help us. The top four seems fairly well set already.

I’m sorry to hear about your loss, James. It sounds like she was an incredible person.
