Vandy sent out a strange email to alumni from the Chancellor this afternoon in which he said that this compact was just a conversation and he had heard from many voices over the past couple of weeks and he looks forward to continuing the conversation? So both yes and no?

Naval goods and then ships were a key export from the 13 colonies - lots of wilderness = lots of wood for ships and shipbuilding. Look at Boston during this time.
