The core tenant of Christianity is immoral, therefore all is tainted.

Vicarious redemption of humanity via a single human sacrifice is an unethical core principle, so there is a limit to the value of moral condemnation coming from a cleric.

No matter the courageous act, the immorality stands.

I feel it has more to do with our failure as a society to have meaningful conversations about religion and politics.

If we could challenge (for both the left and the right) the sacred place religion holds in our culture it would go a long way to actual progress.

If our universe was created by an thinking agent, they could have abandoned their creation

A powerful being could happen upon a universe already existing and claim it as their own

Being a creator does not equal being a god and vice-versa

If you want to define god, you gotta know the rules

Any deity would by definition need to be far more logical/reasonable than I, this is a definitional requirement for the title

That is what separates mythological figures like Jesus and Thor from an actual deity

The embrace of reality, not the rejection of it, would be an identifying feature

So here is a rub, I don't KNOW that god doesn't exist. I cannot prove a negative any more than Plato or Socrates could

Every example of a god claim that I have encountered has been disproven. I live my life under the 99% certainty that no god exists AKA Russel's Teapot but that is not knowing

When you do, make sure to include the evidence up front, don't rely on faith or authority, that is how all the others have failed.

Good luck

Which god do you know?

I know of no god that is based on science or math, only myth and conjecture

Please name this god, and explain how this god is different than nature or the universe

Calling the universe/nature god misrepresents the later and demeans the former

Has a god been proven to be real?

So far I hear faith claims and see weak circumstantial claims without a shred of evidence/logic/reason

Once a claim about god is made it is quickly & easily dismissed

The burden is yours to prove there is a god, then I will debunk the claim

Remember, faith lies

Faith lead to burning women, science lead to healing them

Science built buildings and airplanes, faith lead to planes flying into buildings

So far there has not been a scientific answer that was replaced by a religious one, that's not an accident

Ponder this when evaluating your assertion

The best manner for determining truth is the scientific method, that explains the incredible advancements humanity has experienced since accepting science and rejecting faith

I'd rather live in a world of science with no faith, the last time we lived in a faith based world was the dark ages

This is not an idle question, your epistemology has failed you when you accept this assertion

Poor epistemology has caused so much harm, so many people have and will be injured/killed by this failure

Better to only accept what can be proven, leave faith for the things that don't matter

Bold assertion, faith drives you to conclude science and math will somehow prove god yet faith is often wrong

If you recognize faith can lie, then you must admit your faith could be based on a lie

By what evidence do you make this faith claim, or is it all make believe for you?

Most important

Look at what they do to you, these religious hatreds

I offer an honest challenge, taking you up on your request for discourse, and you behave like I am insulting you personally

If you cannot handle a challenge to your beliefs the issue is not with the challenge but the beliefs

Redefining God with limits hurts the case for theism at large & Xtiananity in particular

As CS Lewis stated, you must accept the supernatural or Jesus is a common maniac, Christ hasn't left that option open to you

Either god's all-powerful or not, you don't get to weaken the deity at a whim

Any insights presented without evidence/reason/logic that challenges scientific/moral norms is BS, no matter what you or I call them

What knowledge is given you, that I am not allowed to have? I've read the Bible, several times, and studied its history, yet I was not granted your insights
