The best pitches are the ones where we can easily visualize the article, why it is important, and what readers will glean from it. (7/9)

To pitch us, email the idea in a concise paragraph, what you need to do (or have already done) to write the piece, and why you're the person to do it. Include links to clips. Grab our attention with the pitch in the same way you'll grab readers' attention in your article's first paragraph. (6/9)

The Revealer's readers expect our articles to offer sophisticated and nuanced insights about religion (while still being accessible to a broad audience). Our readers want vivid writing, descriptive scenes, and insights they are not likely to find elsewhere. (5/9)

We run several types of articles. Our most common: 1) Feature articles: originally researched or reported pieces. 2) Perspective pieces: opinion/commentary pieces based on one's expertise or research one has already done for something like a book. 3) Reviews of TV shows/films/books. (4/9)

We publish as a monthly magazine, so we typically start thinking about each issue a few months in advance. Have an idea for 3-4 months from now? Great! But because we're an online magazine, we can also occasionally squeeze something in sooner. (3/9)
