Clothes are weird. I’m not a small person … so the fact I literally have on a (1) t shirt, (2) collared shirt, (2b) tie, (3) sweater, (4) suit jacket and (5) large-ish overcoat and it collectively “fits” better than anything else I own doesn’t compute. But I’ll take it.

I rebelled with a merino v neck today too! Big city snow day job interview attire. Broke out the long(ish) coat for first time in (checks lint/dust) … years!

This solidifies:
— sanctity of a TRUE top 4
— conference championship value by rewarding with bye or host
— chances for an independent (Notre Dame, obv) to be a high seed if deserved
— a true guarantee to best G5

This doesn’t fix Alabama/Indiana argument, but all major issues are covered.

Could be 3 champs + Notre Dame. Some mix. But there is none of this “ASU/SMU for 4th bye” debate; also, say Notre dame didn’t lose to N. Illinois and was 12-0. They’d still be the 5 seed under current system. That’s stupid.

3) if you’re a conference champ, you either get a bye (1-4) or host (5-8). In addition to guaranteed entry to playoff, that’s your reward, one or other. Increases value on conf. conference championship

4) after that, top 4 seeds are TRULY the top 4. Could, in theory, be 4 at large teams.
