I grew up with smudging. Smudging was a practice that had to be done in
secret in Canada. Those who choose to smudge need to feel welcome and respected. It used to be illegal here.

Don't Bahá'í writings discourage practices such as séances, spirit channeling, or attempting to directly contact the dead?

Dude, how often do situations like this get settled quietly? If the allegations about this guy are true, why would you keep it from the public until a dispute arises?

Was it to protect Deadpool and Wolverine?

That is a fine addition. Is it single-edged or beveled?

Like, sorry about the hypothetical Polanski thing, bro... my bad. We good?

You don't get forgiveness unless it comes from a genuine place.

You can’t just throw your annual tax write-off at it.

Well you know. It is weird because Red River Métis have even had Natives willing to erase us and that is a head trip.

I didn’t realize Rebecca Sun was still with The Hollywood Reporter. Heather Rae was deeply involved in Sundance.

In the end, it doesn’t matter who you write for; what truly matters is whose game you’re playing.

Everything else is just window dressing.

There will always be people knowingly manipulating any system that lacks transparency to favor certain interests. We've seen these real-life mechanisms abused for political gain as well. Fairness is always a process when it comes to dictating access—but you’re Métis, so you know how this works.

Sometimes the truth can make someone come across as a jerk, but there should be a balanced dialogue about issues of public interest that ought not to be reasonably ignored.

Otherwise, you risk perpetrating a conspiracy of silence, which is one reason the left has been losing ground in the U.S.

By 'conspiracy of silence,' I mean this: it seems Dr. Damien P. Williams (@wolvendamien.bsky.social) may have blocked or obscured this context. Here’s what you might not know:

There was a group of Indigenous journalists who set up a meeting with Nekesa and others to discuss coverage.

Ah, Maer Roshan and Shirly Halperin are back together again. Interesting, there were some major complaints about Indigenous coverage under Nekesa Mumbi Moody.

Agreed in principle, it depends on the nature of the disengagement—whether it is evasive or in good faith.

It's a fine line. Niceness can quickly become a conspiracy of silence.
