Post a perfect album from the 90's that isn't Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden or Alice in Chains.

Challenging choice, but the lack of love in replies so far for Guero, a true gem, is startling:

Jewel's, Highland Park, as pictured, 1976. Opened packs at the bottom of the cart, underneath the main basket, tossing the wrappers into the aisle as I went.

To photo left was a car dealership (?) that was a terrifying (for a 7-year-old) drop down from the Jewel's lot, forging my fear of heights.

Not "viral" but this reply got scores of likes/replies, all dunking on Paul Sullivan for using the Chicago BBWAA (his alt account) to shame me for asking a funny (if not creative/clever) Zoom question the day after Giolito's no-hitter. And the backstory of why he did so makes the story even weirder.

Actually, this isn't my Bob Love story. Someone picked my original clean and recycled a lot of quotes. It's a good Frankenstory, I guess? I should scan the original, but here are screenshots, with great quotes. Sorry for the plain read. Just pretend there are color shots and a distracting layout!

It was such an honor to know the man and to hear his stories. He had fierce pride and deep love of the game. His kindness and gentility set an example we all could learn from. To say I loved Bob Love implies an intimacy we did not have, but yet, I loved Bob Love.

An angel was stolen from us today.

I gifted a number of images from his career to Bob. I'd done that for many players, but in Bob's case he didn't have much of anything from his career. He was SO grateful. I felt so proud to have made the effort.

One of the images (since changed) was part of the walk to the locker rooms at the UC.

Bob Love was such a prolific scorer, it's tempting to overlook his defensive prowess. He was asked to shoulder the load on offense while shutting down the opponent's top weapon. He was never the team leader and not always team MVP, but undoubtedly he was the most important player on the 1970s Bulls.

As my pal @kindableu.bsky.social knows, I like to yammer on about music and tell fun stories of music memories, like when I left my new 45s in the car and they warped under the sun's heat, or taking a nap under the stage during a long concert delay.

If you'd like one such story, I'll do my best.
