My last #weirdcarbs on the subject of the boringest special edition in history: don't confuse Vapor Blue with the later Aquarius Blue, which VW offered on the Beetle convertible. Though to be fair I'd happily have one of those too.

Volkswagen once made a special edition 2000 New Beetle you could only order online. I tried to do it from our dial-up modem when I was 11 and got in trouble when a dealer called the house to arrange financing. Anyway that’s when my irrational love of Volkswagen Vapor Blue set in.

I am deliriously happy to report that, despite the top motor still not working, my garage time over the weekend was not in vain. Not one drop of water from yesterday’s deluge made it into the cabin, marking a decisive win in a battle I’ve been fighting for about a year.
