I feel like the overwhelming sentiment among Cubs fans right now is to shit on everything Jed does. He does things. They’re often very good, they’re often bad. Rea was a move Cubs fans saw as very bad, but he’s been pretty good.

The Cubs did a great job of making sure they had incredible depth without adding anything flashy. Maybe when they got Rea, they thought he would be a bullpen piece and they’d upgrade at the deadline. But markets change. They didn’t anticipate losing Steele. They’ve lucked out with Rea.

As frustrating as he’s been, he’s really saved the team in a lot of ways this year. But, by no means, would I want him on the Cubs next year unless he’s a cheap bullpen option.

By the taste, it resembled their recreation of their Faust beer, which they brewed in the late 1800's for Tony Faust's Oyster House in St. Louis. Faust was still available into the 1940s. However, AB's marketing department has always played loose with historical facts.

If I remember correctly, it was pretty close to the STL brewery’s recreation of their classic Faust beer, originally brewed for Tony Faust’s Oyster House in the late 1800s. I’d love to have Faust and the original Michelob available in the STL area on tap. Really miss the original Michelob.

In honor of Ryno, I was going back and looking at the lineups/ records of my childhood and through high school when he was active, 84-97. Get back to me on frustrating and depressing, current Cubs fans.
