Did you see Johnson’s reply. He said Trump is using satire to make a point. Seems to confirm that they agree they’re figuratively defecating on Americans and America. Seems like Dems should take this messaging and run with it. To me it seems like a big vulnerability they’re leaning right into.

True. But we all see it everyday. The video reflects reality. His administration is “dumping” on America daily (our rights, liberty, prosperity, rule of law) to enrich themselves and their cronies and make Trump feel important and all powerful. It’s actually a good metaphor for Trump’s presidency.

What about the Constitution’s prohibition on ex post facto laws?

Undercut by SCOTUS though. But the district courts are doing an admirable job. One of the last institutional bastions protecting liberty and the Constitution.

Faux News is impervious to facts.

If I recall correctly the entire draft opinion was leaked. This wasn’t a “note” or one page of the draft with the Court’s order that may have been left out. Nor was it a slip of the tongue. She shouldn’t minimize what was done by suggesting some minor negligence.

Don’t forget the conservatives on the Court think they are expert historians. This goes to show the flaw in letting amateur, pretend historians determine the rights conferred by our Constitution. Also, where is the fact checking by the publisher? Her ghost writers (I assume her clerks helped).

Worshiping a false idol. Lying. That’s just two strikes. There are many more.

The subhead line by itself is ridiculous. If they think the name “Defense” creates mission creep, what do they think calling it the Department if War will do? And I’m tired of all the rationalizations and normalization of this stuff. It is maddening

FFS. Schumer is delusional if he thinks this. If they cave again it is time for every single Dem Senator who doesn’t expressly communicate profound disagreement with the strategy to face a primary challenger.

This is along the lines of what @joshtpm.bsky.social and others have written about. “Liberals” who are unnamed and not in office are deemed to speak for “Democrats.” Yet Republicans in power spout nonsense and radical thoughts and it’s crickets from the media and other elites. It’s a rigged game.

Or maybe they’re an authoritarian regime systematically targeting political opponents. Not everything needs to be a “distraction.” They can do lots of bad things at one time. They flood the zone. Dems need to understand this as one big, comprehensive scheme. Not isolated “distractions.” Wake up!

This CNBC interview is insane. I’ve only seen two clips and in those he spews racist garbage and tropes and in the other he delusional about his poll numbers. If this was a normal person they’d be evaluating him for a psych ward. I mean look at the anchors’ faces. They know it too.

This is him eating checkers. If that is the case and the media and markets buy it (big if), it would actually make it less likely the Fed cuts rates (and even increases the chances of rate hikes). This is all nonsensical. Which is par for the course with this admin.
