not even trying to be reactionary or "edgy" or say this shit for shock value, i genuinely mean what i say. corporations giggle at protesting. why would anyone ever willingly come down off their throne that they've spent years building off the suffering of their fellow man? nobody is getting visited by the ghost of christmas future, no one is having a change of heart. it's simple, you make them fear for their lives and hit them in the only place they hurt or nothing will ever get done. i don't even see how that's an incredibly radical idea. it seems quite straightforward to me. "violence is never the answer" wrong. sometimes it is. （ツ）ノー the world is burning and it's very clear who's holding the matches.

When you need a new world, it's because the old world is no longer enough. It's because the old world, as you've arranged it, is trying to kill you. We push along the dark highway away from it, all our possessions in polyester bags. The world I've arranged is a city being colonized by ad revenue. Or it is a belief system made schizophrenic by network news. Or it is just me, alone in my mind, sifting through images of potential shapes for my life, none of which entirely fit, watching my peers grow older on various screens. The shimmer of this world fatigues me, heavies me. Outside, in the tangible world, the sky is changing. Arriving elsewhere, incrementally, I begin to believe it can be left behind.

WHY THE WORLD DOESN'T END Tales of Renewal in Times of Loss MICHAEL MEADE ruture of the world. Young people, who are supposed to be the "future of the world," can find themselves fearing that the world has very little future to offer to them. What kind of story are we living in when young people ask those who are older whether the world will continue or not? There is a deep human instinct to turn to those who are older for guidance when faced with obstacles or danger. Yet part of the problem in modern cultures is that those who are older often feel as lost as young people just starting out on the roads of life. When a culture falls apart it happens in two places at once: where its youth are rejected and not fully invited into life and where its elders are forgotten and forget what is important about life. Modern cultures tend to produce a mass of "olders" who live longer and longer, but a lack of genuine elders who know what to live for. The problem is that modern cultures try to produce obedient citizens and life-long consumers instead of people who know the meaning and purpose of their own lives. Everyone born grows older, but elders are made, not born. The lack of meaningful elders leaves youth less protected, more isolated, and more exposed to extreme conditions, tragic deaths and wasted lives than they would normally be. Youth are at greater risk when the "olders" fail to act as elders and neglect to risk fully living If we have been born to a dark time it becomes all the more important for us to awaken to the threads of meaning and imagination woven into our individual souls. We are not just the passive witnesses of the world around us but also the recyclers of the threads of existence and the agents of renewal for our time on earth. Amidst the rapid changes and reckless speed of life at the end of the era, something ancient and knowing keeps trying to reach us. In order to find the wisdom of the earth and feel the touch of the eternal, we have to stop in time and stop time's relentless march. When there seems to be no time left at all, the old ideas and ancient ways that help the world survive are close at hand and waiting to be touched by us and become known again.
