Go do something, you can't just stare at a screen till you’re 60, live, experience the life, visit a country, do something, do anything…
His hit against Hampus Lindholm in the playoffs. Not because of injury, but because it set the tone that the Canes were no longer the B’s little brother. Felt representative for the changing of the guard in the East.

Then who am I to disagree.... Lastly, y'all are both great in your own right and I thoroughly enjoy opinions from you both. I'll leave it at that and take my place at the kid's table 🤣

to see PK get 6 out of 10 and to have him carry the load as we continue to evaluate the crease for April and beyond, I understand that Bussi is at minimum an asset. Letting him depreciate doesn't make sense and if the org thinks PK/FA can still get their work in and get to where they need...

Freddie looked much sharper in October when the team called his number often, more so than he has in November when fitting 3 guys in. I don't think either philosophy is 'wrong' and I think valuing health makes the sense given time/standings/compressed schedule. As much as my personal want would be..

There will be .250, .275, .375 ect. The best ones have more hot streaks than cold streaks, but goalies just like hitters rely on consistency to try and find those moments where everything clicks and they can lock in and reel off a month of real strong performances.

Third party take here. I get the uniqueness and not wanting to expose Bussi to waivers so team's trying to make best out of a non-traditional situation (org depth better with them all). Like in baseball, I think reps and consistent play is important. A .300 hitter doesn't hit .300 every month...

He was very much shoot first most of the night. Anything he did get settled he was writing towards net which I think is the right mindset when your hands just are having an off night. Beauty assist but that felt like the only chance he really created all night, but was watching with an eye closed.

Thought Svech had a rough game. Struggled to hold/posses the puck which lead to easy clears and a lack of O time for his line. He also wiffed on a nice seam pass on the PP. When he’s struggling it’s not a lack of effort, it’s poor hands. They were just off tonight.

‘Forgot’ assumes they knew… I’m convinced large portions of national media only watches Canes or looks into their numbers when it conveniently supports their handful of years old narratives. It’s more entertaining than anything else at this point

I’m waiting to see the fines 🤭. Really like that group they have and MSL and his core remind me so much of early RBA and current Canes rise. Part of the growth curve for sure. I agree it’s not a good look but I’ll personally give them a one time pass to learn from it.

🤣 hashtag reminded me of this April 2019 gem…. You could tell we hadn’t been there in a while.

I agree with your larger point here, just not on Orlov. His tenure was exactly as expected. He took the $ for a 2 year deal. 3rd pair year 1 to learn the system behind 22/76 & 74/8(with Burns coming off a 61 point season.) Year 2 play 2nd pair and PK while the team figures out the 22/76 replacement.

I’m not saying Orlov’s feedback isn’t legitimate. What I would say is you hear nothing of the sort from the 20, 24, 74’s of the world. Part of being a pro is having that supreme belief in yourself. I can understand frustration finding yourself in a role that doesn’t aline with your self assessment.

I’m all for fair criticism, and I’m not saying he’s void of any, but just how you’re asking for a non biased assessment, it’s also not reasonable to throw the winning percentage and the playoff success (even though there is more to be desired) out like it’s par for course.

He would fit right into the 3.5 C mold. I really don’t see it providing anything but depth and another guy to ride the carousel with.

You don't have to be a tennis 'fan' to appreciate how great that was. I probably average less than a handful of hours watching a year (usually just checking in on major finals if they're compelling.) That was outstanding and so needed to help with turning the page from the Fed, Nadal, Joker aera.

Current Canes roster reminds me so much of Braves roster a few years back. Difference being Canes didn't screw around w/ Aho when the Braves thought they could get Freddie replacement younger/cheaper. Interested to see if ET follows the AA strategy of long terming as many promising young guys.

I’ve said it previously but the current roster doesn’t have the Willy dropping gloves G1 in the bubble energy. Which is to say, I agree that there is an edge or ruthlessness missing. It gets easier to burry a team with ‘your play’ when you can also speak loudly with your actions. My $0.02
