I don’t know. I’m fine with banning it, but I’m not in charge and too much money involved. America has been chasing the next gold rush since 1849. Humans don’t adapt fast enough for the rate of change.

How old are they? How much of their lives spent using AI to write their essays? Or to solve chewy problems? It will for sure destroy critical thinking ability if used for critical thinking throughout a persons development.

It's a misnomer to call it artificial intelligence. That's marketing. It's like saying auto-correct is artificial intelligence. And LLM's will never become AI.

It seems like the problem is some AI might be useful in conjunction with people to improve certain things, but all any institution wants them for is to cut human labor costs. Using them that way will probably just make everything shittier.

I have found it very strange how many seemingly smart people say they use it for research. I found it was impossible to trust for analyzing text at least, but dangerous because it sounds so plausible if you don't double check you might buy it.
