Average dude in Detroit. Old coot, even if I'm not quite old enough. Hard-core liberal, anti-racist, animal lover, atheist and gay. I'm everything the reich-wing hates, and proud of it.

I also love gardening, building shit and occasionally writing.
Baby Chester is growing like a weed but he still loves to snuggle with daddy.

It's October and I can't stand much if anything on television these days, so I've been rewatching the Walking Dead from the beginning on Netflix. Now in the middle of season 4 and I'm struck by one thing: it's so much more optimistic than I remember from the first run.

Baby Chester at 17 weeks. When I found him injured at 6 Weeks old and barely 1#, the vet didn't think he'd survive the week. He's healthy and thriving. More so, rescuing him rescued me.

Baby Chester deep in a food and play coma. This usually lasts about seven minutes before the loop begins anew. I really love this cat.

Happy update on baby Chester now 14 weeks old (4 pounds). All his wounds have healed, exceeding the vets best expectations. He still has an upper respiratory infection, identified as non critical, under control. & Criminally adorable.

Seriously, is this the most beautiful face you've ever seen or what? I love my little meatball Chester.

The whole world is a huge fucking mess, but at least baby Chester is content.

Update on baby Chester. He still has a small patch of missing skin on top of his head, but healing beautifully. He has already learned the necessary cat skills: begging, pushing things off tables, sleeping in clean laundry, and cuteness as a legit legal defense.

Baby Chester's medical condition has become more complicated (fuck that nasty bird who tried to eat him!!), but his overall prognosis remains hopeful. I have totally fallen for this little sweetheart.

I think this is my life going forward. I have no complaints.

2 days ago, my neighbor found a severely injured kitten in his front yard. Today, baby Chester realizes his good fortune.

Life is very nearly unbearable these days, so here is a picture of Frankie (most cat ever) on a rare occasion where she is NOT causing trouble.

They are magnificent birds. However, I call this one "the adversary" because he eats my fish.
June 15, 2025 at 10:45 PM
My neighbor informed me today that the adversary has returned.

There are moments in life when I realize certain important things. Call it an epiphany if you like. I just had one... I don't drink enough.

My brother-in-law came for a visit. He didn't know sitting in my chair comes with certain responsibilities. Cosmo did know.

This is why having a toy phaser on your coffee table is so important.

I know that feeling very well.

Meet Cosmo

Good morning. Even Cosmo is surprised by all the shit in the world these days.

On a brighter note: Ripley, a completely feral cat I brought in nearly four years ago with her kittens, enjoys a roll in the sunlight.
