Battery drain + weird photo quality could mean there's some ai junk running in the background that's trying to automatically apply some filters or touch-ups to your pics? That's all I could think of

One of my fondest theatre memories is when my college did Evil Dead. I sat in the front row and got splashed! The stage blood stained my shoes and I LOVED it!
