Ultimately the choice feels pretty clear: leave Twitter, where everything really *is* happening, for this hail mary at replicating 2014 Twitter without the key shitposters that made it what it was, or go down with the ship. At least the ladder isn't excruciatingly boring.

Threads had the ultimate advantage of a built-in userbase from Instagram, and that by all accounts fizzled out. Twitter's stranglehold is so strong that even 2 years after Elon's attempt to destroy its brand, the name "X" is largely ignored.
