A view of Gaza today 1km from where the blockade starts. In the few minutes I was allowed to stay I heard multiple explosions, heavy gunfire, & saw smoke rising from 4 or 5 places. Gazans have been locked in & trapped under this intense bombardment for close to 2 years now.

Saw this in an Atlantic article on loneliness and it’s so striking. I heard of ppl from the theater sector that numbers of tickets are nowhere near 2019 level. There’s also much more WFH. Seems the push to “normal” did not quite work?
