This story was heartbreaking. I work with so many families in similar circumstances to this mother. It is a never-ending cycle of difficulty that is hard to overcome. As for this landlord-what an awful existence.

100%. We need someone that really believes and ACTS like this is a crisis. Not just reminding us of a crisis. Who is going to say : this is what we are doing about it. I am happy he is doing the restricting in California. Most of us do not live there and cannot do much for that effort.

Based solely on my own experience with aging elders-understanding their experience is difficult due an inability to communicate feelings effectively. You need to be willing to be vulnerable and see others as true autonomous humans with equal rights before expecting understanding and compassion.

Giving too much credit. You think Donald Trump knows these guys talked to anyone or that he cares? This dude is doing this because he loves to feel powerful. That is why they all do it. You can “follow orders” reluctantly. You can walk and not talk to anyone.

Was he embarrassed? He didn’t have to talk to them at all-he chose to talk to them. He could have kept walking if he really didn’t feel like following orders. That is someone pretending to be one of “da boyz” who will be all too happy to escalate if the “boyz” in question give him a reason to.

Like not everything requires this level of evidence. No RCTs have been done (guessing) comparing gunshot wounds with bullets vs beanbags to prove bullets are more dangerous. Anyone who did a study like this would be a monstrous cunt just like this man.

They don’t need to do a randomized control trial because it would UNETHICAL to expose people to undo risk just to “see what happens”. We did that to the Tuskegee airmen. It’s why we have ethical standards in medical trials-to avoid these scenarios because they are UNETHICAL!
