I am bewildered and amazed this branch seems to be holding up another tree so a vine can crawl up and blossom over.

A unique dystopia, Above was a beautiful and quiet story of harm, healing and transformation. I loved the strange dystopia and haunting shadows.
Highly recommend!

I reread Nevermoor for the first time in several years and it was just as good as remembered. Every sentence is packed with life and magic, and the world is so wondrous you can't put it down. I finished it too quick!

#writingupdate I had a wonderful time last week meeting my classmates from Faber's Writing the Speculative Novel at our anthology book launch.

It is very surreal to see my words in print! The anthology will be sent out to publishers/agents, so we'll see if I hear back😊

I am on a bit of a YA kick and finally got around to reading Sabriel- I loved it! Such clean sharp prose and I love how the fantasy world is protrayed in such agrounded and realistic way. I'm excited to continue the series!

I loved Compound Fracture. I thought it was an important portrayal of what the daily life of a trans person can be like, and of a community coming together to push back. I also learned of another piece of America's abusive history 🙄

This was a haunting and mysterious fairytale that I sank right into. Heavier on vibes than plot and might appeal to fans of Wilder Girls by Rory Powers and Don't Let the Forest in by CG Drews.

I discovered there are heaps of sundews in the bush near my house, which is pretty exciting 🤩

This was an utterly bizarre literary fantasy with a beautiful build in tension, and an ending both ambiguous and devastating.

Exciting news! I applied for and received a mentorship with the Australian Society of Authors! 🤩 I can't wait to work with a mentor on my manuscript, I am really looking forward to the learning opportunity 😊

I have had blast reading the Dungeon Crawler Carl series the past few weeks. It is a gory, action-packed dungeon game that is also hilarious and totally out of control

I really enjoyed attending Karen Brooks book launch for "The Whiskey Widow," tonight. She was fabulous and I always love learning about the writing process.

#WIPSnips I forgot to post yesterday so I'm posting this based on American timezone to catch the "flower," WIPSnip! 😬

I have struggled with this description, so I'll be working on it more. I do hope it's getting more clear though!

This was a fun and freaky read! Nice build up to a horrifying ending and I laughed aloud a few times.

I have been travelling through the NT the past few weeks. So grateful for the opportunity to hike the Lara Pinta and finally see Uluru. How magnificent!

I picked up Chlorine by Jade Song because of it's beautiful cover and loved it! Such strong voice and characterisation, and the writing pulled me in from the first page. Gorgeous!
