Princess Pauahi. I can’t resist a woman with a book who understands the value of education. 📚

My news distraction = upcycling old books & packaging to make bookmarks for my #LittleFreeLibrary. It’s keeping materials in circulation, giving to the community & Swedish death cleaning my hoarded craft supplies. You’re welcome, kids.

Banned book on a Friday evening.

Challenged and banned based on sexual content, LGBTQIA+ content, gender fluidity, and child trafficking themes.

I prefer to consume my political horror as fiction instead of reality whenever possible.

Something strange is happening to viewers of “Fax News”. They move from consuming news to literally consuming each other and their unassuming loved ones.

One for my personal collection. #booksky #horrorsky

Book mail! If you’re not on Pango, check out this great source of used books (not an affiliate, just a happy customer). I’ve been dying to read this gem by @librarianjones.com so did not hesitate when a copy came up on Pango, plus the seller sent a handmade bookmark! I love me some bookmarks. 🥰

I’d say it’s the perfect day to stay inside and read but I was going to do that anyway. 🤷‍♀️

Current read, perfect if you want a better understanding of the frightening theologies that brought us to current events. I’m 33% through and all fired up.

I am so proud that Simon & Schuster published this book, so as an employee, I had the opportunity to read it. It offers valuable universal advice that I would recommend it to anyone, whether you consider yourself an activist or not. My review is up on the apps, and of course opinions are my own.

Reading the eBook while I wait on my print copy to arrive. Not a playbook, but so much inspiration and a vision of a world where everyone’s basic needs are met through reciprocal care.

New favorite! I applaud Hendrix for shining a light on this dark history surrounding maternity homes and managing to incorporate it into such an engaging and satisfying work of fiction. Full review posted on all the apps. #horrorsky #booksky

The Least of My Scars by Stephen Graham Jones was the most disturbing thing I read in January, in all the best ways. My review is up on all the apps, but if you want something both intellectually and psychologically stimulating with a heavy dose of “can’t look away” cringe, this is your book.

Need all the optimism this book can spare this week.

Captivating, dark, mysterious, and of course, #witchcraft. Review is up on Goodreads, StoryGraph, and Fable.

I was so excited to be able to snag a pre-pub eBook ARC of #TheBewitching from #NetGalley. I had never read anything from @silviamg.author before, but The Bewitching secured my fandom.

I think it will be another day of Kinky History in between holiday prep so I can keep texting my husband random facts while he’s at work. 😂 Seriously, this stuff is fascinating. It’s the book I didn’t know I needed, but found thanks to my local library! #librarysky #booksky
