If they do make a direct sequel, it'll be interesting to see how he handles Dek now having the cloak. I think it's pretty clear from the structure of this one that he realized (correctly) that it's a great power for a villain, but a pretty terrible one for your protagonist.

I love (sincerely) that it's a legacy sequel populated with young characters to potentially pass a franchise torch to, and Cruise just says "nope, movie's still gonna be entirely about me!"
