There is no indication that republican leaders or voters even know what current immigration policy looks like. Their views are driven by Breitbart blowups about caravans, Haitians eating cats and MS-13. Change the policy all you want, they'll never give you an ounce of credit for it.

I watched the whole thing and not a single character's motivations have anything to do with the plot of the movies or even stay consistent from one minute to the next

The trend of increasing loneliness in the US predates the personal computer, let alone widespread social media use, and likely has a ton of causes.

But also it's extremely obvious that tech is melting our brains and making it worse

I wanna push back on 2 here because I think AI absolutely *can* be trained to produce a simulacrum of friendship without the substance

And yeah, most people don't want or need anything like that, but the people who do are isolated & vulnerable & should be encouraged to connect with real people

A staggering number of people believe the lies. In September before the 2024 election, 51% incorrectly believed that immigrants are definitely or probably causing an increase in violent crime.
